The Quality Assurance Technician is a full-time role that is accountable for the oversight and continuous improvement of Circle’s quality assurance programs across the beverage manufacturing plant.  The position is open & available for immediate hire and is a full-time (40 hrs/wk), day-shift position that is based at Circle’s manufacturing headquarters (no remote work option).

In this position your normal responsibilities will be: 

Daily Tasks:

  • Working alongside & coaching the production team to ensure compliance with SOP’s.
  • Batch Testing: pH, Brix, TA, sensory testing.
  • Batch Record creation, review, and filing.
  • Management of Retainer Sample Library.
  • Inbound Ingredient Document Control: COA, SDS, etc.
  • Lab Sample management.
  • Sanitizer level validation and logging.

Weekly Tasks:

  • EMP Swabbing.
  • 3rd Party sample capture, preparation, and delivery to 3rd party lab.
  • Weekly batch tracing validation.
  • Attending weekly production team meetings, QA meetings, and other plant leadership meetings.
  • Researching industry best practices & benchmarking to ensure continuous improvement of Circle’s QA standards.

Monthly Tasks:

  • Water Testing.
  • Full facility inspection with adherence and recommendation report.
  • Observe and interview production team members to verify adherence to the food safety system procedures.
  • Air Quality Testing.

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Confirm Circle’s procedures comply with government and third-party regulations.
  • Internal audits, as well as audits of suppliers and distributors, to ensure compliance to safety protocols.
  • Lead interface with auditors and certifying agencies, including USDA Organic, SQF, FDA.
  • Manage supplier certifications and audits.
  • Manage equipment calibration program.
  • Corrective Action investigation and logging.
  • Pest Control management and verification.
  • Coordinate training sessions for Circle personnel on quality related topics.
  • Sanitation chemical inventory management

What experience are we looking for?

  • A minimum of 2 years leading & overseeing a food/beverage manufacturing quality program -OR- a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a relative science.
  • Eligible to work in the USA.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Experience in HACCP and SQF Food Safety Systems. Preferred, but not required: you are certified in HACCP, PCQI and/or SQF Practitioner.
  • Proven track record of your dedication to making safety and quality a top priority and working collaboratively in a team environment.
