Position Title: Territory Manager, Michigan

Department: On-Premise Sales

Reports to: Carly Traub

The Territory Manager position is a full-time Outside Sales role that is responsible for Circle’s growth in Michigan.  The Territory Manager is strategically focused on On-Premise (coffee shops, gyms, restaurants, event venues, offices, etc.) accounts and is a critical piece of our mission to Help people find balance and feel good. One drink at a time.

Key Accountability: The Territory Manager’s success is determined by Revenue and Active Accounts in the Michigan market for On-Premise business.  

The Territory Manager’s Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Sales: 
    • Be a hunter. 80%+ of this role is new business sales. If hunting for new business doesn’t give you energy, this position will not make you happy.
    • Make 300 strategic sales touch points per week through various methods (calling, visits, email, social media messaging, etc.) to develop new business opportunities. 
    • Own the growth in the Michigan Territory for On-Premise, generating new leads, moving through the sales pipeline & securing 5 new accounts per week through various distribution partners. 
    • Develop relationships and grow volume with existing accounts.
    • Work in a fast-paced, heavy outside sales activity role. We are looking for hustlers who are persistent, unafraid to hear the word “no,” with proven ability to close new deals quickly and effectively.
    • Live within the CRM (Circle uses HubSpot) to stay organized, track sales outreach and win new deals efficiently.
  • Account Management: 
    • On-board new customers successfully using sales and marketing resources, such as conducting staff trainings, providing marketing materials and coordinating social media campaigns to drive volume.
    • Build long-lasting relationships & develop growth opportunities within existing accounts. 
    • Analyze trends within your book of business and identify growth opportunities.
    • Monitor accounts that are decreasing in purchasing and find ways to maintain and grow aging accounts to eliminate churn.
  • Events: 
    • Drive brand awareness via events & product demos
  • Administration: 
    • Partner with Operations & Marketing to deliver a consistent message & product to the Territory
  • Market Influence: 
    • Build relationships with community leaders, media, and other influencers in the Territory to drive brand awareness.
  • Develop & Maintain Distributor Partnerships: 
    • Build relationships with buyers, marketing and sales personnel with existing distribution partners
    • Present new Circle products to their teams
    • Schedule distributor ride-alongs to become the go-to non-alcoholic brand in their portfolio. 
  • Projects:
    • Work with the On-Premise Sales Manager to create quarterly strategic projects that help drive the Circle business forward. 

In a typical week you will…

  • Be a hunter. Make 300+ sales touch points via calls, visits, emails, texts, social media messaging, primarily focused on new business, while maintaining existing relationships.
  • Create at least 2 New Opportunities per day to fill the sales pipeline
  • Win 5 new account placements per week and on-board each  successfully
  • Make contact with existing accounts to develop relationships and remain front of mind. 
  • Analyze existing business and identify opportunities for increased volume
  • Develop relationships with distribution partners by making contact with buyers, sales reps and marketing in order to uncover opportunities and stay front of mind.
  • Work on quarterly strategic projects 
  • Prepare for and participate in the Weekly On-Premise Sales Meeting
  • Prepare for and participate in the Weekly Staff Meeting
  • Prepare for and participate in Weekly 1:1 meetings with the On-Premise Sales Manager where your career development is high priority.

What experiences are we looking for you to have?

  • Experience in outside sales with high volume sales activity, foodservice and/or beverage outside sales experience is strongly preferred.
  • Persistent, hustler mindset that has proven ability to overcome objections and generate new sales in a quick yet effective manner 
  • Creative, opportunistic, out-of-the-box thinker, constantly working to solve problems 
  • Self-motivated, disciplined in organization and time management, proven ability to generate work independently.
  • Passionate about owning the role, developing your career and becoming a valuable asset to the Circle team.
